The Kampfgruppe's orders are to secure the Bridge at Best. ![]() Not only do they have probably the best pike unit in the game, but they also have things like pike militia (to fill out the ranks as needed), two good gunpowder infantry units, and enough different choices of heavy infantry and cavalry to hold everything together.Having successfully delayed 30th Corps, Kampfgruppe Lehr is redeploying to the town of Best, near the Wilhelma Canal. That's why I think it's Portugal hands down. I just think that their top-tier stuff (with the exception of ranged infantry - I love the muskteers, Ottoman Infantry, and Janissary Archers) is too limited, especially for a pike-and-musket strategy that requires a pretty large amount of pike units (the Turks having neither a pike unit nor large quantities of the non-pike polearm unit they do have). That isn't to say that the Turks are weak by any means. I'd even be willing to put the Byzantines up against the Turks on even terms. A faction with several strong late-game heavy infantry units like Aragon could have their way with the Turks if they were so inclined. I disagree about the Turks, partly on principle and partly because, while Janissary Infantry is very good, it's also the *only* good late-game heavy infantry unit they have, and is available in fairly limited numbers (the same go for the Qapukulu. You might also try doing the same with the Spear Wall formation button. I think that this "resets" them once they move, but I'm not sure. Magnum: Try double-clicking their "Guard Mode" button (once to toggle it to whatever, once to return it to default). ![]()
